Steve

'My name is Steve and I have the privilege and honour of being the co owner and Managing Director of SBA Financial and SBA Solutions. In the beginning when myself and Julie first started out, we primarily worked from our home office with just the two of us and we had an empty filing cabinet with one client in it, which was ourselves. Since that time, we've built our business through personal recommendations from delighted clients and other recommendations from professionals such as Accountants and Solicitors, so we are both extremely proud of how we've managed to build our family owned and run practice into something really quite special.

When Julie and I first started the practice we laid out the key fundamental principals upon which we wanted our business to grow and thrive, and apart from the obvious of it remaining profitable, it was really important to us that honesty and integrity was the corner stone on which we provided advice. We also wanted to make sure that we had fun whilst at work and were able to help our local community, in particular local charities, for the benefit of people less fortunate than ourselves. It is really quite a full-filling experience to be able to do that year after year.

On the personal side of things I have two fantastic kids and when I'm not working or arranging our next charity event, my other interests are predominately formula one racing (that's watching not driving unfortunately!) and computer games that have a lot of strategic planning involved in them.'

Julie

'I'm Julie and I have the pleasure of not only working with Steve but I'm also married to him as well, so as you can imagine it is a big relief for the rest of the team that Steve & I get on really well with each other.

In 1997 Steve asked me to leave Britannia Building Society, where I was working part time as a cashier, and start working with him in the business. I have to say that it was the best thing that I could have done, I really enjoy the work and I really enjoy working with the other members of the Team. I think we have found the right team of people to make it a pleasure to come to work. What I really find satisfying in my job role as Finance Director is that our company is here to help people and it is gratifying to know that our customers & clients appreciate the work we do to help make their financial planning easier.'

Susan

Hello, I'm Susan and in contrast to Jasmine, I'm the oldest member of the team. However, following the family theme I am fortunate enough to be sister to Steven. My area of expertise is 'Advanced Estate Planning', which is an area both Steve and I feel very passionately about.

I am married to Kevin, and have 2 fantastic children. Sharon who is 24 and a school teacher, she has just purchased her first home with her partner Andrew and my son Joe who is twenty and pursing a career in web design.

I love to swim and walk my 3 dogs, Sandy, Taz and Fidget.

Jasmine

'I'm Jasmine; I'm the youngest member of the team and daughter to Steve & Julie. I have been working part-time at SBA since 2003; however I have been working here full-time since 2006.

I left school with 9 GCSE's and went onto College, where I left with 3 A-levels. I decided, whilst at college, that University was not right for me, and I really wanted to go into the family business (luckily the family wanted me as well!). I love my job and really enjoy coming to work everyday, knowing that I get to work with some of the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met; the most important thing for me is that we work hard but we play hard too.

I hope one day to follow in my father's footsteps and become an IFA, so I can work alongside him in the company, and I am pleased to say that I have recently passed my first qualification towards reaching that goal.'

Nikki

'I'm Nikki and I have been with the company since 2001. I am lucky enough to be able to work part time as I have a young son.

I worked in payroll before I had my son and I first met Steve when I worked for him at Tesco many years ago! I have been learning so many different aspects of the job over the years that I have been working for SBA and I am sure that I will still be learning in many years to come. I am delighted to say that I am now the Finance Manager and I am no longer just responsible for handling the payroll, I am now responsible for all the company accounts and the day-to-day financial management of the company. We have a fantastic team here at SBA and I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. I look forward to many more years with the Company and to be able to work more hours with the team as my son gets older.'

Sarah

'I'm Sarah-Louise; I am currently the newest member of the team. I started off as a fully qualified Beauty Therapist after two years of college training, so this has been a completely different and challenging change of career, one that I am ever so happy to have taken.

I have been lucky enough to have been given this wonderful opportunity to become a Client Business Manager and to be working for such a dedicated, professional, friendly and supportive company. We work as a team and everyone helps and looks after each other. It's a pleasure to come on board.'
